I see my mother in me

Hello My Queens,

I truly hope 2016 is treating you well so far. I've had a bit of a rough start to the year but thanks to Allah all is well again, Alhamdulilah. This year I plan to post on a more consistent basis and will have a post up at the end of each week Insha'Allah.

If you know me or follow me on Instagram then you know just how much I adore my mothers clothes. Honestly, I stay representing my mama! Anytime I feel the need to dress up her wardrobe is the first place I look. Below is a gorgeous one straight from her wardrobe....
There's so much comfort in this outfit. I wore it towards the end of summer, in August 2015.
I was on holiday in Dubai, and this dress was loose and cooling in  the summer's heat.
My brother took these pictures of me ages ago but I never got round to posting it. Life just gets in the way of everything!
The beach in Ajman, UAE is only 10 minutes away from home, so my mother, sister and I decided to go for a walk there just before sunset. This was the perfect outfit to do that in, so I thank my mum for hooking me up with her dress. Modest on the beach? Yes, it's a must!
Gorgeous beach, gorgeous weather and gorgeous dress. What's not to smile about?!

Ever since I was a little girl I've admired my mums style. She's always been my number 1 style inspiration. And now that I'm a grown woman I find that her clothes match my personality the best. I love the vibrant colours, the loose fit, sometimes vintage sometimes African print. Honestly, this girl loves that.
Here's an outfit that I wore to my little sisters graduation party. I particularly love the neck detailing but because this dress was too loose fitting I had to show off my waist at least by tying it with a rope belt.
WARNING! Bright colours coming up next!
This outfit has to be the brightest I've worn throughout 2015. It was in the summer and I remember going out that afternoon and receiving lots of compliments. Most women wouldn't wear this dress during the day when they're out and about and when I ask why I'm told it's too much.
For me it's the complete opposite. I feel most comfortable when I'm dressed like this.
Below are older photos when I've worn my mother's clothes. I have lots more that I won't post due to time constraint but have selected my faves.

I always joke that wearing my mums clothes has saved me a lot of money! But it really has, no joke! Anytime I'm going someplace nice, I don't hit the shops, I do a hit on her wardrobe. I've been wearing my mother's clothes for years and I'll continue to do so for as long as she lets me.

I made this post to show you how much I appreciate my mother's clothes, and how I adore her style. I'm truly inspired by my mum. Masha'Allah is the only word that can describe her...

I truly hope you've enjoyed this post.
Till next time,

  1. You look beautiful in this dress! I think you have enjoyed this wedding a lot. As an event planner and arranging various venues Chicago, really admire all arrangements here. Everything is managed professionally and looking pretty good.
